Job Summary

Collective Growth, a paediatric support company, is seeking an experienced Senior Occupational Therapist to join our growing team. As a senior clinician, you will play a key role in supervising new graduate occupational therapists and allied health assistants, as well as taking on a complex caseload of clients. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate and innovative OT to contribute to the development of our services and mentor the next generation of practitioners.

Key Responsibilities

- Supervise and mentor new graduate occupational therapists and allied health assistants

- Oversee the supervision of at least one student occupational therapist per year

- Attend stakeholder and management meetings to represent the occupational therapy perspective

- Manage a caseload of clients with complex needs, including those with autism, behavioural challenges, physical impairments, and more

- Participate in the assessment and evaluation of clients, including functional capacity assessments and specialized assessments as needed

- Ensure high-quality documentation and provide feedback to the team on documentation practices

- Identify and communicate opportunities for professional development that would benefit the team

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy and AHPRA registration

- Minimum 3-5 years of experience as an occupational therapist, with a focus on paediatrics

- Demonstrated ability to supervise and mentor junior clinicians

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills

- Willingness to be an active contributor to the growth and development of the Collective Growth team

- Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle (essential due to limited public transport in Gladstone)

A Week in the Life of a Psychologist at Collective Growth

Start Time and Schedule:

  • Full-time team members enjoy a 9-day fortnight, giving you more time for yourself while still making a meaningful impact in the lives of your clients.

  • Most client sessions are scheduled between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM, with the option for Saturday appointments if you’d like to add extra flexibility to your week. Sessions run for approximately 20-45 minutes with time allocated for prep and documentation.

  • Step out for a peaceful walk along the coastline or enjoy a coffee at one of the lovely cafes just around the corner.

​Client Caseload and Assessments:

  • Manage a complex caseload, including clients with ASD, behavioral challenges, and physical impairments.

  •  Opportunity to conduct a variety of assessments, including functional capacity assessments.

  • Play a key role in shaping high-quality documentation practices, ensuring your contributions maintain the team’s standards and foster continuous improvement.

Supervision and Mentorship:

  • Supervise and mentor new graduates, OTs, capacity building practitioners, and allied health assistants.

  • Take the lead in overseeing student placements throughout the year, guiding the next generation of clinicians. 

  • Receive regular check-ins with multidisciplinary senior clinicians for team support and professional growth.

Meetings and Collaborative Practice:

  • Contribute to weekly management meetings and clinical review sessions to ensure coordinated care.

  • Run fortnightly Collaborative Practice team meetings focused on professional development and best practices.

Flexibility and Work-Life Balance:

  • Be part of a vibrant team culture with regular team lunches, social media engagement, and fun community events that foster connection and support.

  • Get involved in exciting initiatives like testing new tools, games, and fidget tools, bringing fresh ideas to the team while having fun in the process.
